Fair Foundations Dyslexia and Learning Support

About me

With 25 years of experience in primary education and a deep passion for nurturing young minds, I founded Fair Foundations to help every learner build the strong foundations they need to achieve their ambitions—both in education and beyond.

After qualifying as a primary teacher in 2000, I quickly realised that supporting children on their learning journeys was where I belonged. The joy of sparking a child’s curiosity and witnessing the moment when learning truly clicks has always been a privilege.

Alongside classroom teaching, I developed a strong desire to support fellow educators. Mentoring colleagues as an Assistant Headteacher, working as a Specialist Leader in Education (SLE), and supporting practitioners through the Maths Hubs were all immensely rewarding experiences.

In 2020, I made a significant shift from teaching predominantly Key Stage 2 to working in Key Stage 1. This change deepened my understanding of early reading and writing and sparked a determination to explore why some children struggle despite committed support from teachers and families. In 2025, I took this passion further by pursuing a postgraduate course at Edge Hill University to train as a Specialist Dyslexia Teacher.

Today, I combine extensive teaching and leadership experience with specialist knowledge of dyslexia, enabling me to make a meaningful difference for both individual learners and the educators who support them.

I believe that all children deserve a fair chance.
